What is SSF?
Small Sided Football (SSF) is a modified verson of soccer for 5-10 year olds that focuses on skill development and team work in a fun, non-competitive setting.

Benefits of SSF:

  • repeated decision-making experience
  • the emphasis is on player development rather than winning or losing
  • more 1 v 1 attacking situations
  • children enjoy the progressive and sequential game formats

Who's it for?
Under 5s to Under 10s - so if you are turning 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 years of age in 2017 you can play Small Sided Football. Age group is based your age at 1 January. For example, if your age on 1st January 2016 is 9 with a birthday on the 3rd January you will play in Under 10; If your age on 1st January 2016 is 9 with a birthday on the 30th December you will play in Under 10.
 

When are games on?
The season kicks off with the first Gala day on Saturday 29th of April 2017 . Weekly games are played on a Saturdays (for ages 5 to 9) at Wodonga Heart - Willow Park starting Saturday 6th of May 2017. Under 10's TBA and Under 11s play on Sunday mornings. 


What about training?
Training takes place once a week on a Thursday night from 5-6pm at Diamonds grounds. Come for a free training session before you register. 
 

How much does it cost?
The fee for SSF is $85 for 5-8 year olds and $100 for 9-10 year olds in total for the full season. There are no weekly playing fees. 

Your fees cover: 

  • player insurance
  • fees paid to AWFA, FFV & FFA

...and contribute to the following:

  • lease and maintenance of training ground & club facilities
  • playing shirts
  • balls & equipment
  • trophies & awards
  • referee fees
  • coach development  
     

What else do I need?
All you will need is red shorts, red socks, shin pads and soccer boots... and lots of enthusiasm! Playing shirts are provided.
